Summary

Learning lifecycle, Lessons Learned, Improvement Proposals, Standard/Blueprint/Skill/Gate/Tool classification, deprecation, version awareness, and knowledge promotion.

DCP Flow learns from real projects but avoids turning every experience into a global rule. Learning is promoted only when evidence shows it is reusable and stable.

Learning lifecycle

A Lesson Learned may remain Project Knowledge or become an Improvement Proposal. If promotion is justified, classify it as a Standard, Blueprint, Skill, Quality Gate, Tool knowledge, or another appropriate artifact.

Key points
  • Lesson Learned.
  • Improvement Proposal.
  • Correct knowledge classification.
  • Promotion with evidence and boundaries.

Evolve without accumulating chaos

Version awareness, deprecation, and the Knowledge Lifecycle allow obsolete practices to be retired. The question is not only what to add, but what should stay local, be updated, or be removed.

Key points
  • Do not generalize from one case.
  • Avoid duplicate rules.
  • Explicit deprecation.
  • Review evidence before institutionalizing.

Choose the right destination for learning

Reusable learning does not always belong in a Standard. It may remain Project Knowledge or become an ADR, Blueprint, Skill, Quality Gate, Tool/MCP, Tool Catalog, Vendor Intelligence, or pedagogical documentation. The key question is what future decision the knowledge should support and at what scope.

Key points
  • Project Knowledge / ADR.
  • Standard / Blueprint.
  • Skill / Quality Gate.
  • Tool, MCP, or Vendor Intelligence.

Extend before duplicate

Before creating a new artifact, search for existing knowledge. If it exists, extend, correct, or clarify it. This reduces Knowledge Duplication across Standards, Blueprints, Skills, MCPs, Tool Catalog, glossary, and documentation.

Key points
  • Search before creating.
  • Update before duplicating.
  • Keep artifact responsibilities distinct.
  • Do not turn one preference into a global rule.

Lifecycle, deprecation, and Improvement Proposal

Knowledge also matures and may be PROPOSED, EVOLVING, PROVEN/ADOPTED, DEPRECATED, or ARCHIVED. When a lesson affects several layers, an Improvement Proposal should capture evidence, scope, related artifacts, proposed change, and validation plan before modifying the framework.

Key points
  • Version awareness.
  • Deprecation with replacement and migration path.
  • Proportional Improvement Proposal.
  • Human Gate for material changes.
Contextual glossary+
Lesson Learned

Evidence-derived learning that may stay local or be proposed for reuse.

Improvement Proposal

Explicit proposal to change or extend DCP Flow from verifiable learning.

Knowledge Lifecycle

Lifecycle through which knowledge moves from signal to proposal, validation, adoption, deprecation, or archive.

DEPRECATED

State of knowledge or a tool that should no longer be used for new work.
